It's all right there in the game's title. Plants vs. Zombies' curious battle between the undead and some very aggressive foliage charmed the hell out of gamers on a wide array of platforms over the past few years, and now developer PopCap Games has announced a sequel, which is slated for release in late spring 2013.

Tokyo Jungle has captured the imagination of import game enthusiasts in recent months, as the Japanese release for PlayStation 3 spotlighted an abandoned Tokyo that's since been taken over by animals, who then fight for survival amidst the urban wreckage.

Pikachu Yellow Nintendo 3DS XL, Only in Japan

When the super-sized Nintendo 3DS XL launches in North America this Sunday, we'll only have red/black and blue/black options available for purchase. Japanese gamers have already had their shot at some other colors for the 3DS LL (as it's called over there), and will soon get an even slicker option in the form of the Pikachu Yellow system pictured here (via Andriasang).

Last night, Chicago's own OhNo!Doom art gallery and collective launched Adventure Time! A Tribute Show, which collected pieces from more than 40 artists inspired by the blazingly creative hit Cartoon Network animated series. Running through August 30, the show features a wide array of creations, spanning plush, paintings, embrodery, sculptures, and much more.

Previously available in limited pre-release quantities to San Diego Comic-Con attendees, Kidrobot's 4.5-inch vinyl Hypnotoad from animated favorite Futurama is now up for sale at Kidrobot.com, Kidrobot stores, and other retailers. It's priced at $39.99, and while it's unlikely to actually hypnotize those who stare into its eyes, at least it promises a nice surprise.

Adventure Time Tribute Show at OhNo!Doom in Chicago, Starting August 11

Chicago's OhNo!Doom will launch Adventure Time! A Tribute Show on August 11, aiming to celebrate the animated sensation's spirit with artwork from more than 40 artists. The show kicks off on opening night from 6-10pm, with artwork from the likes of Shawn Smith (Shawnimals), Lana Crooks, Steff Bomb, and many others. If you can't make it to the opening, the show will remain active through much of the month, and is set to close on August 30.

Retro/Grade Blends Plastic Guitars with Space Shooters, Out August 21

Retro/Grade is one of the more inventive games due out in near future, allowing PlayStation 3 owners to play a fresh take on a space shooter using an optional plastic guitar -- the same ones used for games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Essentially, you play as a spaceship traveling backwards in time, and you'll strum the guitar while switching between lanes to "unshoot" bullets to maintain the time continuum.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron Demo Out This Week

An extensive playable demo of the upcoming Transformers: Fall of Cybertron will be released this Tuesday, July 31, reports IGN, giving Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 players a chance to check out the anticipated licensed game three weeks before the full version hits stores.
