As profiled in Clutter Issue 16, New York-based Makerbot Industries creates one of the most affordable, compact and awesomely open-source 3D printer solutions on the market today. Just this month, Makerbot has announced some very cool playset templates for producing your own plastic objects. As a proof of concept, imagine what this kind of solution could produce in the hands of Toy Artists….?

We are kicking off 2012 in style with issue 16 of Clutter! Holla!!! Issue 15 saw us hit the ground running with a new format, and we absolutely love it - so of course we kept it ;)  The mag will start shipping early next week, but can be purchased now for preorder from our store. 

The team here at Clutter has put together a quick "how to guide" to make it easier for you to enjoy & win at the Designer Toy Run! Enjoy! First up The run has 3 levels of game play; Global run which means you can collect toys anywhere in the world, allowing users to play who aren't in the cities with the specific runs. City specific runs to collect some awesome goodies and also Location specific hunts which have super hot toys.

Fresh this summer's Rainbow City playground event in New York City, designer toy pioneers FriendsWithYou have partnered with The Loyal Subjects to create a total no-brainer limited edition art object - a 52 inch inflatable bop bag featuring FWY's iconic character Mr. TTT.

One of the biggest and most exciting parts of putting together the Designer Toy Awards, was dreaming up and manufacturing the actual physical award. We knew from the outset that we wanted it to be a substantial piece that not only encapsulated the character driven nature of the designer toy scene but also stood on its own as a desirable art object. Because we truly are celebrating the growth and longevity of the scene, it made perfect sense to us to approach Clutter's first cover artist Pete Fowler.

There I was standing outside Toy Tokyo with Sean from Cotton Candy Machine and Zac from United Culture when we spotted this Yeti in a bus...random. NYC still rules.

As you may know Clutter has been running an awesome competition over on Facebook to win a set of Huck Gee Raku Dunny courtesy of Kidrobot! The competition has been a great success, drawing a huge crowd. So thank you all who participated and voted!

We are super happy and excited to announce that, after a short hiatus, Clutter Magazine is back in action with a brand-new look, size and layout!! Issue 15 features a great round-up of in-depth features, including artist interviews, stories, editorials and more. Issue 15 marks a re-launch and re-design, in a larger size and layout style. This Issue we have an amazing cover, created for us by Jeff Lamm. We love it! and we also have a very special back cover from Lou Pimentel. We hope you love the new size and look as much as we do!!
