So the annual Mercury Music Prize shortlist has been announced of the 'best' albums of the last year with the usual mix of random folk and jazz albums and the mainstream. Radiohead's album wasn't bad but really it has to Burial winning it, even if it's his worst album to date.
I just wanted to blog about how great the new Alkaline Trio album Agony & Irony is. I am a huge trio fan, and am always worried by a new album from any band.... I mean what if I don't like it! The trio, of course, don't disappoint. Whilst it's not quite as dark as sometime expected, there last few albums have departed somewhat from that original sound, the macabre is still in abundance, of course.
On Sunday Kirsty and myself took a trip to Donnington park for the Download Festival, to hang with Coheed and Cambria (Thanks for an awesome time guys, you guys rocked it as usual!!).

So the Red album is out....listened to it a fair bit and there's some great tracks and a few duffers too! This video for the first single "Pork and Beans" is brilliant - check all the internet references, from singing man, lightsabers to "leave Britney alone" girl.

So most of Saturday morning was spent recovering from the night before, but some of us did make into the con, amazingly.The evening played host to 4 parties..... Ours, Eric Scarecrow's Soopa show, Kaiju at the Showroom and Buffmonster at GR. .
