NY brand FLüD teamed up with artist Tristan Eaton and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for a cool art project at this year's SxSW festival in Austin, TX. Sponsored by FLüD and inspired by TNMT, Tristan revealed an original 44' x 12' canvas called "Shredder" for an art gala hosted by The HOPE Collective (Helping Other People Everywhere) during the festival.

My old friend Ellis lives in Austin, Texas and I'd say he's a little jaded about the SXSW festival at this point. That's why I was so suprised to find out that he willingly spent three hours in line - in the rain - to meet none other than the Grumpy Cat herself, Tard. This Tarded event was organized by on-line everything site Mashable and it took place in a tent set up in a downtown Austin parking lot.

Rockstar vinyl artist FERG was selling some prints at Flatstock and obliged me with a short but sweet interview. I have a ton more questions I'm yearning to ask him but perhaps that's for another interview (in the near future Im hoping).

Another amazing artist I talked with at Flatstock was local Austinite, Tim Doyle. Tim has a great eye for design and a good sense of humor. He was extremly informative and just felt like one of those people you've known forever even though you just met. Here's the interview!

Ok so here's the last few shows I made it too for sxsw. It was a jam packed weekend here in Austin and I am exhausted. Some fun crazy bands round up the end of this festival. Two of which proudly sported unitards.

I had the pleasure of meeting with Mr. Brian Ewing, who was appearing at the SXSW Flatstock show the last few days. Brian was just amazingly great to talk to and really seemed like the coolest, most informative, and nicest guy ever. He also dropped some hints on me about a upcoming toy release. I'm really excited and can't wait to see it. I was also just extremly excited to be interviewing one of my favorite artists working today.Ok enough geeking out. Interview time start now! Music is in full swing now! Tonight was a whirlwind of good music and St. Patricks day antics! I started the night off with a huge party at Auditorium Shores In Austin with some live but barely visible rocking out by The Strokes. The show was good but not worth the trouble of wading through thousands of people to see the ants on stage. At least it was audible and sounded great. The best thing was probably the free monster drinks i kept getting to get me through the rest of the night.

Tonight was Datapop at the Highball, one of my favorite places in Austin. If you've never been to the Highball, imagine a Lebowski style bowling alley with ski ball and arcades, upstairs karaoke rooms, a ballroom stage and a bar all wrapped into a glorious super building. But tonight the Higball was transformed in a video game style rave complete with chiptune DJ's and free games and video game inspired drinks! If your unfamiliar with chiptunes, take driving techno and add classic 8 bit melodies.

Another Awesome night of Comedy tongiht! Five awesome comedians, a theramin, a disappointed front row, and a suprise set rounded out the night at Esther's Follies on 6th. First I'll tell you who the five comics on the list where... and then Ill suprise you at the end with the special guest. so you can kind of reenact what we went through. Yay roleplaying!  First Up and Hosting was Shane Mauss, Who was just hilarious and the kind of wrong that was right.

Tonight was the live taping of a new Nerdist Podcast! if your unfamiliar with the Nerdist then you are missing out on some geeked out hilarity. Chris hardwick, Jonah Ray and Matt Mira are the  hilarious regular hosts... And tonights special guest was John Oliver of Daily Show fame! So Awesome!
