Farewell, Amos Novelties

July 23, 2012 - by jim
It's the end of an era - Amos Novelties, the toy and product design company of Art Toy pioneers James Jarvis and Russell Waterman, announced last week that they won't be creating any more projects. Hats off to James and Russell, two of the most innovative, down to earth, intelligent people I've ever met and had the pleasure to work with. Here's their statement, good luck guys!

AMOS – Generic Character Brand Store

June 26, 2012 - by Nick
We've not heard much toy-wise from James Jarvis, aside from some wooden editions of his Yod character. But this year marks the 10th anniversary of the Amos brand and to celebrate they are opening the AMOS Generic Character Brand Store in Tokyo for a 5 days only.

Dark Wood YOD by James Jarvis

February 16, 2012 - by miranda
We love a James Jarvis figure over here at Clutter, so we were excited to find out that after the huge success AMOS  had with their first wood edition of YOD, One Gram  (Amos's Japanese Licensee) and Landscape Productions got together to produce a new Dark Wood version. Each figure is hand carved from untreated solid walnut and come in two parts that join together using steel magnets. Produced in Japan they are packaged in airtight bags inside a re-sealable clear plastic sphere.

YOD 2 by James Jarvis

December 16, 2011 - by Nick
James Jarvis toys are a starting to become more of a rare breed as alot of the original artists from the scene take a breather from the toy scene. So when James Jarvis does release a figure (like last years Caleb) it's gains alot of attention. This time the figure's not exactly new, cos we've all seen the YOD before but now he comes in this lovely wood finish in collaboration with Japanese design studio Landscape Products.

Wooden Yod

June 23, 2011 - by Nick
James Jarvis's YOD character was released in vinyl form back in 2007, but now it's time to welcome him back in Wooden form as Amos collaborate with Landscape Products in Japan. Made from natural beech wood and made posable by the use of magnets in the joints (thats the best my interpretation of google translate results). Released July 2nd 12:00 and limited to just 30pcs worldwide store. Sorry no info on price! Available from the Amos Store (might be japan store)

James Jarvis x CLOT x Coca Cola

May 10, 2011 - by Nick
OK we posted about the James Jarvis x Coca Cola 125th Anniversary Cans previously but in collaboration with CLOT this collaboration has been taken way way further and produced an outstanding collection of quality products and labels. For example here we have goods from G-Shock, Subcrew, Head Porter, Native, as well as iPhone4 and iPad2 cases.

Amos x Porter

April 29, 2011 - by Nick
Amos and James Jarvis have collaborated with another high end label, after they worked with SIGG they have continued to use the same graphics but apply them to these Porter Wallets in both black and white versions. Classy iconic graphics from Jarvis, far superior than his upcoming design in the Stussy/Marvel artist collection. More on that soon. Porter specialise in high class luggage and accessories and normally come with a pricetag reflecting their high end status. Available at selected retailers.

James Jarvis for SIGG

April 19, 2011 - by Nick
James Jarvis and his label AMOS has collaborated with high end Swiss Bottle manufacturer SIGG. Jarvis has been a busy boy lately with a new range of Amos Tees, the Coke Cans in Hong Kong and now this, he is also due to feature in the next range of tees from Stussy in collaboration with Marvel (not looking forward to that one particularly :S ) I'm not a massive fan of this Jarvis character, who's most high profile appearance was a, not very exciting, range of tees made by Stussy last year.

James Jarvis x Coca Cola

Coke are celebrating their 125th Anniversary in style - well at least they are in Hong Kong where James Jarvis's illustrations adorn the famous brands cans. 6 designs are available you just pray that Coke pull their finger out and release these worldwide, Jarvis's work translates to a worldwide audience, it seems a dumb move to not release them all over. Keepin my fingers crossed all the same...
