Marka27's show "Neo Indigenous" is just around the corner (July 7th at Crewest Gallery LA), and he has just announced that the show will also play host to the release of his 8" Half Dead Bic Buddy "Half Dead Silver". This is the final version and will be limited to 140 pieces. Retailing for $60. Marka will also be available during the show to sign them!

Marka27's solo LA show 'Neo Indigenous' is coming up on us fast, and we have some awesome sneak peaks to share with you lucky readers. These are process pictures for his new pieces, and they look awesome.

Just before the weekend, Kidrobot announced that custom Munnys from a trio of artists -- Shawnimals, Marka27, and Julie West -- were available from Urban Outfitters' webstore, as all three had recently participated in custom drawing events for the retailer. West's custom has since sold out, it seems, but the Shawnimals and Marka27 customs are still up for sale.

Victor Quinonez aka Marka27, has announced his much anticipated LA solo show.

Victor “MARKA27” Quinonez has recently announced the opening of his very first solo exhibit in NYC. Toy Tokyo’s Underground Gallery will be the host to this impressive art show. The show, titled “Neo Indigenous” , will be opening on January 12 2012, from 8-10pm.

  Fresh off of his contributions to the Dunny Azteca Series 2 set, Marka27 returns with an 8 inch version of his famous mini god.  This time however, he has worked a pretty cool snake motif into the design, and there will also be a black chase version at the ratio of 1/6.   This Dunny will be available April 21 and will retail for $80 US.  

Tonight people across the US will be hitting up release parties for the next series of dunnys, Ateca II. I was at one of these events in a great shop called Domy on the East side of Austin,TX. It's always interesting to see the assortment of people that come out for these things. Young and old, everybody needs there crack/ dunnys.  Personally I wasn't ecstatic over the azteca II series.. I contribute this to a variety of factors. 1. I first started collecting near the time series 1 came out...and was habitually burned by doubles. oh the pain!

All of us have people in our lives who feel that we waste money on toys because they don't serve any practical purpose. Well for those nonbelievers we present to you the Asian Mini God from Marka27. Not only do these look amazing on your shelf, but they are also functioning speakers. There are two different sizes to chose from with two very different prices. The 15 inch version will retail for $160, while the 5.5 inch figure will fetch $40. It's hard to argue against something that has both form and function, so save your pennies and order one when they drop on December 18th.
