Nike X Michael Lau's Foosball Table.

September 4, 2012 - by specialK
Check out the 'Hong Kong Fight' Foosball Table. I love this thing. Michael Lau & Nike Soccer designed the awesome table to commemorate Nike's kit for the Hong Kong National Team's 2012-2013 season. It looks like all fun & games but there's more to it than that. Each player of the Hong Kong National Football Team is represented as a dragon-like figure known as 'HK Fighter', a nod to The Year of the Dragon.

HypebeastTV: Michael Lau's Workspace

July 5, 2012 - by Nick
Love this lil video from HypebeastTV, talking to urban vinyl legend Michael Lau. From the sounds of it, Michael has a place that spans 3 floors, of which one is home, one a workspace and one a galleryspace, all cleanly furnished and minimalist in design. Awesome spaces for sure, but a little sparse for my liking - but definitely amazing storage for a man who doesn't like his things to be out on show.

J Dilla Vinyl Figure

July 5, 2012 - by Nick
Celebrating the life of the late legendary producer J Dilla, this figure has been comissioned by the J Dilla Foundation and is due for release later this year. The figure has been designed by Phil Young who has clearly been channeling the design stylings of Michael Lau, Eric So and more recently the always excellent Coolrain. The figure comes with a Detroit fitted cap, Donut Chain, MPC and Nike Dunks. More info on release when we have it! File 10411

Wooden Gardener102 by Michael Lau

May 18, 2012 - by Nick
Not really been feeling these wooden styled releases from Michael Lau, but they have been kinda cute, well some of em. Gardener 102 is based on Maharishi guru Hardy Blechman, a long time supporter and collaborator with Michael. The upside down pose is a classic yoga position and you will be familiar with all the other upside down figures Michael has released through Maharishi. The new 9" wood styled vinyl figure is limited to 79pcs and comes in 4 different wood colors.

Michael Lau's original Gardenergala figures are considered by some as the holy grail of designer toys. Cited as on of the originators of the designer toy scene Lau's pieces hold their value and his original hand made figures are rarely seen on the secondary market. Occasionally I peruse eBay to see what's up there, this one obviously grabbed my attention.

Michael Lau 6x2 NY FAT

April 13, 2012 - by Nick
Already sent Mr Lau my money for this 12" NY FAT - shockingly that makes it my first toy purchase of the year! This new sizable version of one of the original Gardenergala character designs is awesome and there will definitely need to be some rearranging of toys on my desk when he eventually shows up.

Michael Lau x Terry Richardson 'Wood' Edition

March 15, 2012 - by Nick
Somewhat fitting that a figure sporting a massive erection gets a 'Wooden Edition' release. 9" inches is pushing it tho. The Michael Lau characture of photographer Terry Richardson has been seen in his err 12" form as well as 6" Vinyl edition. Now to bring it inline with other recent Lau releases the figure will also get a 9" Wooden Edition. The figure is actually vinyl, but just sculpted and painted to a nice wood effect. Pre-order here for approcimately $100.

Michael Lau x Terry Richardson

February 27, 2012 - by Nick
Up for pre-order on March 1st is this vinyl incarnation of photographer Terry Richardson by Michael Lau sees a return to the 6" form for ML and the Gardener series. Recently we'd seen this figure produced in 12" form for an exhibition and after that came the Crazymichael and CCKing 12" version. The figure, and some of the photos, are NSFW:

12" CrazyChildren King by Michael Lau

September 27, 2011 - by Nick
Not quite what i was expecting from a 12" version of this not so lil fella. The vinyl version was one of our favourites here at Clutter and i personally loved the first 12" crazymichael release but that had pretty normal proportions so far as head to body scale went. The test of this new series of figures (assuming there will be plenty more released) is how the figures translate back to 12" tall.
