Being released as a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive, Toy Tokyo have secured the newest colorway of Ron English's Fat Tony figure: the Antique Edition. Similar in appearance to the Fluorescent Edition, this new version features a finishing polish that makes the 9-inch tall vinyl have an aged look. Limited to a mere 100 copies, they can be found all weekend long by convention goers at Booth #5336 for $85 each.

From the fertive and creative mind of Chris Ryniak comes a thick hunk of wood that has been expertly printed on, laser cut and engraved by the fine folks of Ink It Labs. Known as the Bugglestump Forest, this adorable beastie diarama is approximately 3"W x 2.5"L x 2.75"H when fully assembled and costs a mere $50.

In addition to the previously announced 2012 San Diego Comic-Con exclusive Boob Ball, Buff Monster will also have unique packs of his "The Melty Misfits" trading cards for SDCC.

"We grew up with giant monsters, comic books, punk, science fiction, skateboarding, robots & rebellion. No one made want we wanted," lamented Super7. "So we made it ourselves." And that's exactly what they've done for eleven years now, produced the coolest toys that fans could ask for.

Wisconson-based artist and sculptor Scott Wilkowski's rise to recognition began with the unveiling of new process he'd developed at the 2009 DesignerCon: as part of The Custom Yoka Show, he recast the Yoka bear platform in transparent resin with a hand-carved skeletal system suspended within.

Shing Yin Khor, also known by the artist pseudonym Sawdust Bear, will be present at Small Press Table P-16 of the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), offering a wide variety of her hand-crafted wares to fans old & new. Khor, currently up for the Designer Toy Award for Break-through Artist, will be offering items to satisfy everyone regardless of their wallet-size… including free sketches.

Bigshot Toyworks have just revealed the final color render of the Jeff Pidgeon Fox character for the Trickster Project. Created by two Pixar artists, Scott Morse and Ted Mathot, Trickster is an alternative to SDCC, open directly opposite the con, to act as a more fan based outlet.

Really really wishing i was at SDCC right now! But thankfully my bank accound is all the more healthier for not making that trip, and while there are some awesome toys on available, it's an awesome opportunity to meet up with all the friends we have made working in the designer toy world.
