Venice Beach typographer Eric Waetzig wanted a unique, new plank, so he made one. Eric hand shaped and burn engraved "Thrash Venice"  into the custom coffin shaped board. He also inlayed two pennies in the top of the board just above the trucks. Arbor Collective pitched in and supplied the wheels and trucks.

This occasion will allow you to access Prints, AP's, Rarities, Skateboards, and much more JLed goodies. Plus some of Joe's personal vinyl toy collection, art prints and memorabilia from more then 10 years of activity in the Art and Toy World. There will also be toy cabinets, furniture, and other misc items, including some free stuff (while supplies last)  

Alain Aslan, a French sculptor and painter has just teamed up with Boom-Art to produce the Pin-Up Girl Skateboard Deck series. This series shows such beautiful pinup art that is "playfully provocative".

Good lord. After their enormously awesome paper toy show, the powers that be from the Massachusetts powerhouse, Phidias Gold, are going to be laying down some sweet magic on us. This particular voodoo comes at us in the form of Stack the Deck, a skateboard art show. The roster promises to sate.

Popped into Slam City on Saturday (having spent two hours at home trying to buy the Jarvis Martin X figure!!!), saw these Emerica Aaron Suski edition Francis' and had to grab them.

Produced and release by Jeremy Fish as part of his SuperFishal brand, the idea behind these decks is to have two artists collaborating on one graphic. This first Collab Series includes artists Pushead - "The Music" (8-1/4), Todd Bratrud - "The Mermaid" (8) and Michael Sieben - "The Mushrooms" (7-5/8). Each deck is made by local San Diego deck manufacturer Watson Laminates with decks limited to 500. The decks are currently available in all Upper Playground outlets. I need them!!!
