The latest custom from Laura Lorén is an 8"  BuneeQ called May. Laura really shows off her sense of fashion on May, maybe more so than she has on her prior customs. May received quite a bit of attention at the IN YOUR FACE group exhibit held in Augsburg, Germany and its easy to see why.

This morning we heard of the sad news that Toy2r USA will be ceasing its operations as of August 2012. The press release reads:  "Thank you for your support from the past few years. While the Qeevolution continues, it is with deep regret that Toy2R USA will not continue its voyage with the Hong Kong company and will be ending operations in August 2012. The decision for closure has been a logistical and unavoidable reasons. Toy2R USA will be will no longer provide further support (sales, marketing, etc) for the Hong Kong office."

Fantastically stark and minimalist artist Jon-Paul Kaiser recently rekindled his association with Toy2R to issue forth several colorways of his new interpretation of the 5-inch Mini Bear Qee: "Pandaimyo." The varying colors of armor actually denote which clan they are from: brown being Mountain Clan, blue for a Royal Guard member, white indicating the Spirit Clan and red for Fire Clan members

We'd like to introduce to you new girl on the block, the Scottish artist Lisa Rae Hansen. Lisa's pretty new to the Art Toy world, but she has been participating in custom shows in the last year. Like a lot of artists, her work isn't based exclusively in toys but in character driven art. Today, however, we're going to talk about her Heavy Metal Qee, Iron Maiden Plus Special Guest MegaSeth.

Well, this is adorable. Scott Tolleson is teaming up with Toy2R for a production line of five-inch Mini Qee figures named Preston T. Pinkerton, or Mr. Pinkerton. The official description, picked up by SpankyStokes, reads, "Mr. Pinkerton to his close friends, is the most intelligent and lovable hare in all the forest. He enjoys wearing his lucky pair of magic spectacles while skipping about on his many adventures. Wind him up and watch him hop and your joy for Mr. Pinkerton will never stop."

Das mo gave us a sneak peak of his first Qee custom . It will be on display June 6th at the Chrom Gallery in Bochum, Germany. The show is called "The Toy2R BuneeQ Show" and  das mo will be showing his Qee along side of Luke Chueh and VISEone. Here is a glimpse of das mo's Bunee Qee.  

Toy2r has just announced the opening of a new collaboration with Choicee - "The Qee x Choicee Arty Shop". Located in Taipei's hip ATT4FUN shopping center (on the 4th floor), fans will be able to find the latest Qee releases, plus exclusives like Choicee x Qee iPhone, iPad and Samsung 2 cases, as well as apparel.  The store looks very high end concept, and if i was in Taipei I'd certainly be stopping by to check it out!  

It doesnt surprise me that on Friday The 13th Voltaire released his Toy2R Mini Qee Series. Voltaire continues his "Deady and Fiends" 5in Mini-Qee series by unveiling a bunch of evil bunnies! And of course Deady is in the picture, this time disguised as a rabbit. Along for the ride is Deady's nemesis Sleezter Bunny as well as Black White and Silver Variants of both. Also up for grabs is a Voltaire exclusive Sleetzer Deady figure.

It’s been nearly 2 years in the making, but it’s finally here. 30 UK Artists and Designers have taken the 8” blank DIY platform toy “Qee”, and used it to express what “Heavy Metal” means to them. The finished pieces are ready and will be displayed for 1 week at the Forbidden Planet Megastore in London. The show starts on the 12th of April and runs through till the 19th. Go and take a look at these amazing creations. To go with the show HMQ Mastermind/Organiser & Curator Dan Perry has produced a 64 page book.

Take a look at Jon-Paul Kaiser’s latest Qee project with Toy2R PANDAIMYO, the Samurai Panda.  This Qee stands 5” tall and is said to be availabe this summer at your favorite Designer Vinyl toy stores. Each will retail $28 each.
