Ok so we've had the teasers and the speculation over the figure, revealed to be long time Kidrobot collaborator Doze Green back with a new figure for the Kidrobot Black label, which for me personally has been pretty underwhelming with previous releases from Gary Baseman and a cool Skull from SSUR, but didnt dig the gold teeth on that one. So far i really don't know what to say about this figure so click through while i have a think and collect my thoughts. We have more views of the figure.

Ok so here's the numbers: the figure stands a massive 20" tall and is limited to 200pcs and retails for $500. I know its super limited edition but maybe something more in the region of limited to 500 and priced at $200 would have been preferable. Especially when that $500 probably gets converted to €500 for the UK store, if they get any in at all.

Right now onto the hard part: First of all let me praise the sheer balls of Kidrobot to produce such a figure, the sculpt and size of the figure are amazing. Down to the smallest detail the figure looks to be a perfect incarnation of Doze's artwork and produced with alot of love and an attention to detail. And whilst i have alot of love for the figure I remain completely unmoved to part with any money for one. Let alone $500 - i guess it's just not my cup of tea. Don't get me wrong I really do think the sculpt is astounding and there will be tons of people out there who will love this figure but personally i just wouldnt want it sitting on my shelf.

I mean the figure itself is a completely mental design. Like some crazy hunchback chick(dude?) with odd boobs, tentacle arms, a hoof and a clubbed foot. Oh yeah and there's horns too. Like I said, ballsy move from Kidrobot. Initial twitter feedback has come in the form of people saying they love the sculpt but have no desire to own one, and thats pretty much where I am too. I will be interested to see how it sells. The SSUR skull was much more reasonably priced and that was still available ages after its release.
