Nobody does teasers quite like Nike and this one's pretty major for any sneaker head. Possibly the most anticipated sneaker ever made is the Nike Mag self fastening sneakers from Back to the Future II. So Nike invited a bunch of peeps to a 'Special Event' hosted by Nike guru Tinker Hatfield - as anyone will tell you, you do not turn down an invitation like this.

At the event guests were presented with a box containing these metal shades that people will recognise as those worn by Doc Brown at the end of the first movie when he informs Marty about his crappy kids and lack of road law in the future. The metal shades have the line 'It's about time' laser etched into the earstems - and it is time indeed, fans have been petitioning to get these sneakers made for years and we've seen other shoes like the Hyperdunks get their own homage colorscheme and i can only assume that Nike has been waiting to master the technology to do right by the film versions.

And from the looks of it Nike has put in some serious work on these sneakers, filing several patents to ensure the self fastening mechanism is going to work, along with a rechargeable dock and all the correct LED lights to make them just as awesome as we remember - and we all know hardly anyone is gonna rock these in real life, these are the ultimate sneakers, the centerpiece of any collection.

I'll post up the full release when they're unveiled, in the meantime enjoy the McFly Closet teaser

Nike have been slow to make the Air Max Zero part of their regularly updated sneakers. But the latest micro-run of Zeros is definitely something special. Most sneakerheads will instantly recognize the grey, white, and orangey-red colorway as Jeff Staple's signature.
