I'm soo unbothered about KAWS at the moment I nearly didn't bother posting this, but i guess you have as much right as I do to experience my jaded view of the waning phenomena that is KAWS.

Most important to note is that it's KAWS artwork that i have a problem with at the moment rather than the KAWS x (insert licenced product here) figures, i like to see bonefide licensed work like the Disney and Star Wars figures Medicom have produced for Original Fake. And with licensed figures everyone gets the money that they are owed rather than seeing KAWS still making hundreds of thousands of dollars from his Spongebob artwork.

Weirdly it's the toys that are my favourite part of KAWS work nowadays, all of his recent artwork has been lazier and feels phoned in whereas his interpretations of iconic characters from across the years are a much more interesting and ever growing collection of art in their own right - and everyone gets the money they are due. To me it just feels very odd when it's an artists work rather than his figures that feel like they are coming off a factory production line.

Despite all this I'm still interested to see the Snoopy figure when it's unveiled. I might be in a better mood then :P

It seemed like KAWS was done with vinyl toys, and I don't think this really changes that, personally. But either way, you can snag six "new" Companions from Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth's online shop.
