Dimitri Tsykalov is well known for using food in his artwork, for example his series titled "meat" (see bottom of post) but this new series particularly caught my eye - surprise surprise! For his latest works he created skull's from favorite fruits and vegetables.
Russian born, Taskalov's first installations were created from wood. He drew inspiration for this material from his surroundings growing up, re-purposing it to create plump pillows, tvs and toilets. From there his work evolved to contain more and more food based products.
I love Tsykalov's work, and these skulls are truly awesome. Enjoy...
