Fans of the film Coraline can rejoice, for LAIKA's newest film — ParaNorman — opens tonight. Recounting the story of a weird boy, blessed with the ability to speak with the dead, who is able to prevent his hometown from utter destruction in the wake of zombies rising due to a Witch's curse. But if you were one of 49 truly lucky people, then you received what might be the most fantastic promotional item ever created for a movie… a ParaNorman sealed crate straight from Blithe Hollow Cemetery. Though we weren't lucky enough to receive one ourselves, we're thankful that Veronica Belmont created a video of her unboxing the copy that arrived at her stoop:

And, as Tomopop's Rio McCarthy shows through a series of photographs from her unearthing of a figure, each one is a unique and — buried within the dirt and wrapped in tiny burlap sacks — are actual handmade prop pieces used in the film itself.

You can read McCarthy's detailed account of the unboxing in her photograph heavy articles on Tomopop, split between Part 1 and Part 2.
