Otto Björnik x Kidrobot's Shah Mat Dunny Chess Series

Pictured above is a custom chess set, using 3-inch Dunnys and Totem Doppelgangers for pieces, that phenomenal artist Otto Björnik made back in 2011. In a surprising turn of events, it appears — based on The Black Spot's preorder solicitation — that Kidrobot will be releasing an official version of this “Shat Mat Dunny Chess Set” as a blind boxed series. And yes, this series will be a full and playable chess set when completed. If you're wondering how that will work, each blind box will include two Dunnys (one black or white pawn and one mystery royalty Dunny) as well as a piece of the chessboard! A seriously fantastic idea, this appears to be scheduled for a July 2016 release, which places it around San Diego Comic-Con. Hmm…
