Seeing as we're on a bit of a 90s trip I couldn't not mention the mighty Beavis and Butthead.
I remember watching them one night on MTV UK and thinking it was the funniest thing i'd ever seen...the comments about videos, couch fishing with prunes, the air guitar. It also spawned the Great Cornholio "are you threatening me?"
Yeah it was purile and it hasn't aged well (like most of the 90s!!) but it was a superb piece of social commentary on American youth, cleverly disguised as a slightly shonky cartoon.
