Over Xmas I finally got round to reading the autobiography of Stoke on Trent's finest export (no not Robbie!!)....Slash!!!

Use to be a big G'n'R fan and still think "Appetite for Destruction" is one of the best heavy rock albums ever made. The book is very funny in places and is a good tale of how a band took years to go from getting a few guys together in a garage to making a record that turned them into stars. But also pretty sad as it details how one of the biggest rock groups bascially tore itself apart because Axl went a bit power mad and essentially made the other memebers session musicians.

Apparently Axl is also writing a book but if it takes as long as "Chinese Democracy" to come out I won't see it in my lifetime! And as good as the Slash book is, it doesn't even come close to the comedy of one of the best music autobiographies of all time: "The Dirt" by Motley Crue....utter genius from beginning to end.
