I have many dreams, one involves killing Falcor from the Never-Ending story in front of Bastion, one has twin asian school girls (and i wont go into detail), and one is to have my own line of toys. Two of those things will most likely never come true, but a future where toys are printed in 3d from your desktop is close at hand! Check out the MakerBot Thing-o-Matic! A relatively cheap 3d printer that looks just about perfect for designing your own professional toys.
I should preface this by saying I don't have one of these beauties. Seeing as I'm not tapped into that serious blog money that everybody's making (*not really.) I can't afford one of these quite yet but maybe some day. Although, with innovations like this one coming out and being refined 3d printers are getting cheaper and that's gonna be awesome for the individual toy market.
From what I can tell the printer works with ABS plastic which looks like strings of plastic wire that feed into the machine. The plastic has multiple colors including Glow in the dark. It also has software to set up your 3d model and plugs in with a usb cable. Sounds awesome right! Well my xmas list just got alot smaller because this hit the top.
