Seems that 2012 is definitely the year of DIY platform toys.. get your custom on! The latest and greatest blank to be released is this DIY 6" Fonzo figure by Freak Store.  Inspired by the French Bulldog Mascot of the store, the Fonzo figure will soon be the basis of a custom show, so stay tuned for information on that.  Due for release at some point in June/early July, I think this is a pretty successful blank figure, generic enough for artists to stamp their style on it, but with enough character to be stand alone.  I'm looking forward to seeing how this is used as a canvas.

Toys based on video games were surprisingly hard to come by in the '80s and '90s. So my jaw would have dropped as a kid if I saw photo of last week's "16 Bit Models" show in Akihabara.

After a long period of a scarcity of Mini Munnys and complete absence of full-sized Munnys and Trikkys, all three are back in stock at Kidrobot thanks to their collaboration with Crayola. Joining them is a brand new blank version of Frank Kozik's Stache Labbit.
