Gravity Rush is an upcoming title for the PS Vita due to launch on June 13th. Inspired by the late great illustrator Moebius, this game is already causing a stir and as a result there's quite some expectation for acclaim for when it launches.
From the concept art, the protagonist is anime styled but in game styling seems a bit something more akin to Shadow of the Colossus. What's most striking looks to be the gameplay. It looks like a fast paced platformer with stunning colorful environments to boot. Utilising the tilt controls native to the PS Vita you can tilt the screen to interact with the game and mess about with gravity to propel your character in various ways. You know when you were a kid and when playing a racing game you'd tilt the control pad to try and get your car to steer more on screen? Well it actually works in this.
Directed by Keiichiro Toyama, and written by Naoko Sato who previously worked on Siren & Silent Hill, this vibrant manga game is rife with rich enchanting visuals.
It looks set to be a major title for the PS Vita, and I'd confidently say one which could convince buyers into the platform. Something this artistically beautiful and interactive on a mobile device is a tempting prospect indeed.
And here's some sublime artwork for you to look at too,
