Jeff Koon's brand new exhibition is currently being hosted by the Fondation Beyeler in Basel, Switzerland. Displaying work in three categories - The new, Banality and Celebration - all sections provide a key to the Koon's sensibility. 'New' focuses on his early work, a time when he incorporated a lot of cleaning appliances into his work. 'Celebration' features a series of high-gloss steel sculptures and large-format painting, focusing on a nostalgia for childhood. Conceived in 1988, Banality features large scale sculptures of porcelain and wood highlighting the association between human and animal concepts of innocence and guilt.
The exhibitions runs until Sept 2, 2012
