Musician Beck has decided to take a fairly odd twist in his career and, instead of releasing his newest album as a compact disc or vinyl record, he's issuing it as a collection of sheet music. Done in association with high quality publisher McSweeney's, the "Song Reader" is comprised of 20 never before released or even recorded songs. Each song's sheet music is accompanied with a full-color art piece that pays homage to the classic covers traditional for this style release as well as a lavishly produced hardcover carrying case. The book is currently available for preorder from the McSweeney's website, with a cover price of $34 each and an expected release date in early December.
