This month POPaganda is pleased to present the White Edition of the "Abraham Obama Bust." Manufacturered by MINDstyle, in 2009, this bust stands 16" tall and is cast in pristine white vinyl. Limited to only 44 there will be only 4 for sale from the artist's personal collection. Each Bust has been signed by Ron English.
A fusion between America's 16th and 44th Presidents, Abraham Obama is a character that has appeared in Ron English's art since its inception in 2008. Born and raised in Illinois, the âLand of Lincoln,â English is well-steeped in the mythology around the 16th American President. Although he actively supported Obamaâs candidacy, the artist contends that the image is not propaganda, but an examination of culture, history and ideas through the split-second immediacy of visual shorthand. And it asks, âIs there a right side of history, and if so, are we there?â
The Abraham Obama Bust will be available this Friday, October 5th 2012, at 12pm EST, only at the POPaganda Webstore.
