In her solo exhibit "Making a Better Yesterday Today" at Varnish Fine Art, Isabel Samaras gives us a quick lesson in Art History. Her new series blends pop culture characters with Renaissance Art, Dutch genre painting and Victorian Ethnographic Photography. Samaras' series is witty, humorous and will leave you thinking. How well do the pop culture characters represent the subjects in the classic pieces? Take a look at some of the pieces featured in the exhibit and see for yourself.

"Making a Better Yesterday Today" opens at San Francisco's Varnish Fine Art on November 3rd and will show through December 22nd.
