Canadian artist Laird Henderson of Big Trubble Toys is participating in an upcoming show called A Clear Blazing Fire at the Magic Pony in Toronto. The group show is one of mixed media, featuring artists who are showing sculptures, paintings, inks and Laird's resin figures. The set pictured above was hand sculpted, cast and painted by Laird and designed by illustrator Jamiyla Lowe. The set depicts a mystical beast known as the Leader and his devout following their story reads as follows; 'The mysterious beast only known as the Leader has a small but devout following. They worship him without question and whisper his secret name under their breath as they go about their daily tasks. What inspires this passionate adoration? The few outsiders that have laid eyes upon the beast report a simultaneous sense of horror and reverence that cannot be explained.'  Limited to 9 pieces, The Leader stands 8" tall and retails for $500 in Big Trubble's webshop

Shown directly below is Leader Idol, another resin figure Laird will be showing at A Clear Blazing Fire. He's also designed by Jamiya Lowe and hand sculpted, cast and painted by Laird. Opening reception for A Clear Blazing Fire will be from 7 - 9 PM on March 15th at Magic Pony. The show features artwork by Alexandr Mackenzie, Howie Tsui, Jamiyla Lowe, Nathan Jurevicius Patrick Kyle, Theo Gallaro as well as Laird Henderson.
