Fuzzy Uamou

Last year saw some matte finish Uamou toys, but now we're talking full-on fuzzy. Fuzzy Uamou and Fuzzy Bastard are flocked figured that come in mellow pastel colors. Why so fluffy? "During winter, Uamou grows a thick and fluffy fur to cope with the harsh cold and even though his natural instinct tells him to go into hibernation, he continues to meet up with Boo who seems unaffected by the seasons." Collectors outside Japan can try to import the toys by contacting Studio Uamou.

DCON is coming up quick, so the exclusives are starting to be revealed. You've probably seen Ayako Takagi's sugar skull Uamous before, but these ones are hand painted.

You probably don't need much convincing to go to DCON this year, but just in case you do, check out the preview for the Toy Within a Toy exhibition organized by Broke Piggy.

Ah, such soothing colors. This might be my favorite Uamou series since the Tengu and Cobalt series, which had an amazing matte finish. These ones, though, feature calming gradients painted by legendary airbrush artist, Goto-san.
