Londoner Liam Scriven, known under the artistic alias of 2petalrose, creating a stunning one-off version of his “Maiko” resin figurine for the upcoming Gift Wrapped 2015 exhibition at our own Clutter Gallery. Titled “Okurimono Maiko,” or 贈り物 舞妓 (The Gift of Maiko), this 15-inch tall warrior woman is half geisha and half samurai, a feminine exploration in strange opposites. Accentuated by a custom printed fabric obi, which is reversible, as well as a sheathed katana blade and display base with stone floor print, this unique piece is sure to be sought after.
As this is being presented in an edition of one, we expect demand to be high with the fastest collector scoring the prize. Unable to attend the opening on December 12th at our 163 Main Street, Beacon, NY 12508 location? Fret not, as you can join the gallery preview list to purchase exhibition pieces online!
