Vans x Murakami Slip-Ons by Coolrain Lee

Coolrain Lee is keeping the Asian art toy stylings of Michael Lau alive with his 1/6 scale figures and handmade clothing. His latest project includes tiny versions of my personal favorite sneaker of 2015, the Vans x Murkami Slip-On. The level of detail and execution here is amazing, from the waffled sole to the perfectly recreated canvas upper print. While Coolrain Lee creates these sneakers simply as collectibles in and of themselves, he also often includes them with figures, such as his Airmax 90 astronauts, so we're hoping that some sort of figure does surface soon.

God damn, that's some beautiful vinyl. ComplexCon took place over the weekend, and tons of Murakami merch dropped, from Beats Pills, to t-shirts, to this amazine figure.

While I'm partial to the "hard-luck" Hanshin Tigers, these sneakers - a collaboration between the Hiroshima Toyo Carp and Vans - are super adorable.

Last year, Back to the Future Day came and went without a public release of the Nike Mags. About a year later and we plebs are getting a chance to finally own simulacra of the most iconic movie shoes short of Dorothy's ruby slippers.
