tokidoki stgcc 2011

tokidoki have teamed up with plenty of brands for collaborations, from Onitsuka Tiger and LeSportsac to 7-11 and Hatsune Miku. But their 2011 collaboration with the Singapore Post is my personal favorite. Yep, Simone Legno designed two mail-delivering characters just for Singapore's mail system. tokidoki had previously teamed up with SingPost to create limited edition stamps, but this project took their collaboration from paper to vinyl. Zip is a super-hero-style mailman accompanied by his adorable canine sidekick, Cody. While Zip is clearly the main character, Cody is what sold me. A puppy with a giant head and winged helmet was just too damn cute for me to say no. The two figures were packaged together and even came with four stamps featuring Zip, Cody, Stellina the Unicorno, and a Sparrow. The set was exclusive to Singapore, being available through the post office's online store and at the 2011 Singapore Toy, Game, and Comic Convention for $50 Singapore (about $50 US).

Luckily I was able to snipe the only set I ever saw hit eBay. The toys were certainly limited, but the actual number of figures made was not revealed, so prices have risen a bit quicker than the cost of a stamp. The only set I can find online goes for $160 (here). But to the right person, these super cute toys might be worth the high asking cost.
