Internationally acclaimed Israeli graffiti crew Broken Fingaz opened there first UK solo show with a bang at The Old Truman Brewery recently entitled “Crazy Eye Hotel”.  I for one was blown away by their work when It was unveiled at the opening.  The show features a large scale installation depicting the streets of Haifa, their hometown in Israel with a large vengeful creature sitting on a throne demanding sacrifice as the center piece.  While the walls are hung with some very intricate black and white line drawings showing the crispness of their style along with some full color paintings.

Each member of the crew really has their specialty in the design process when constructing the pieces, two of which really focused more on characters while the other two members focus on the typography and background scenery.  So when you see the combination of all their styles it makes for some truly impressive work. Hopefully following the show we will see some fantastic pieces pop up on the streets of london and other euro locales.

So if like me, you love their work you can pick up some prints, a copy of the broken fingers book, or even some shirts from clothing label Ghost Town.

This show ran from the 20th of April till the 29th of April 2012.

Put on by No Way and with the support from the British Israeli Arts Training Scheme (BI ARTS) a British Council initiative in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture and Sport in Israel.
