Tonight I ended up at the comdey showcase for Comedy Death Ray at Esther's Follies in downtown Austin off 6th. If you've never heard of Comedy Death Ray, its an amazing podcast hosted by Scott Aukerman. It pretty much features every great comedian out of the west coast and they sponsor alot of shows and events.

Tonight featured the stand up talents of amazing comedians, Dave Foley, Michael Ian Black, Kevin PollakHoward Kremer, and Brett Gelman and nobody disappointed.

Dave Foley is a legend to me. I watched episode after episode of kids in the hall when i was younger. Dave's stand up was really interseting because it was very autobiographical and kind of twisted. His bits about his ex-wife and the potential sex with a 19 year old Uma Thurman were just gold.

Kevin Pollak pleased the crowd with plenty of Christopher Walken impersonations. And they just never get old. It's so hilarious and dead on. He probably could say anythign as Walken and I'd laugh.

Brett Gelman's a new favorite of mine. I dont want to ruin it... but his short story about i-brains was one of the most hilarious, random, twisted things ever. Really if you get a chance to see him live do it because it wont disappoint.

Howard Kremer, who is a local Austinite, had plenty of great material and his nostalgia for teaching driving school in Austin was just hilarious.

and of Course, Michael Ian Black, whose book I can not read in public because I laugh so loud it disturbs anybody in a 20 mile radius. His set was funny and charming and snarky and everything you love about Michael Ian Black.

If you get the chance to see a show by Comedy Death Ray and you like yourself as a person, then be sure to hit it up. It will not diappoint.

Oh And Scott Auckerman's hosting and bit was just amusing as all hell.
