When you first look at Seong Tae Jin's work the pieces look like paintings, but as you get closer you see there is more to it. What appears to be brightly colored, cartoon-ish paintings are actually painstakingly carved creations from a single piece of wood. Along side of the main figures in the pieces, Seong Tae Jin's carvings include text and patterns carved into the wood.
