Jonathan LeVine Gallery presented the first solo gallery exhibition of Jason DeCaires Taylor, Human Nature. Human Nature is a collection of sculptures, video documentation and photographs taken during his different projects that Taylor has worked on in aquatic environments. This show was opened June 30, 2012 and is ending July 28, 2012.
After years spent in Malaysia as a child around the coral reefs, an interest in water life and environmental health was sparked.
He began scuba diving and photographing coral reefs. Human Nature is the series of work that is collected from the artificial, pH neutral coral reefs that Taylor has created in order to help restore natural reefs by keeping tourists away. This exhibition by Jason DeCaires Taylor, shows the relationships between art and the environment.
