Lunartik in a teacup is finally just around the corner. Pre-orders are being taken now, via Matt's site here. Obviously my favourite is the pink, rosie lee flavour! Although I hope the pink is daker in the flesh and less baby coloured, but i'm sure it will be awesome either way.

Priced at £35 for the colour variations, and £45 for the Early Gray which comes signed and numbered. There are 6 colours to choose from; The earl, White, Green Tea, Rosie Lee, Ice T, and Milky. It surprises us that they are all released at the same time. It will be interesting to see if this marketing strategy will work, especially when these colourways are not exclusive to a certain shop or company.

I guess it gets me thinking about colourways again. I like choosing what colour I want, but are they just overdone in the scene? I guess Toy2r are the culprits in this. Some colour variations are awesome, but generally its just a way to get cash out of toy collectors. Not that I’m suggesting Matt is doing that in anyway at all!! But I think this is something I’m going to look into, so if anyone has any thoughts on it please comment. May develop into an article for the mag!

My colourways issue aside. I have always loved this figure, and our custom one that Matt made for us has pride of place! So go buy one and support an artist that has used his initiative to make something all by himself!

Released June 09

To celebrate the launch of the figures, Matt is curretnly runing a DIY contest. Prizes include a full set of the Lunartik in a tea cup figures, T-shirts and posca's, so its well worth putting in the effort!
