GreatBigStuff has a project in the works going through Kickstarter. They want to make great big toy soldier. You know, the kind of little toy soldiers that you used to buy in a bag at the toy store.  Remember playing with those little green toy soldiers as a kid? Now that you’re all grown up, wouldn’t it be fun to have a giant toy soldier? I know you're thinking about them right now... Remember your little brother swallowing one of those things? No? Well, I do! 

The idea with this Kickstarter project is to make one of those soldiers that’s one-and-a-half feet tall. GreatBigStuff have been creating uniquely oversized versions of everyday objects for over ten years. You've probably seen some of their great big stuff in movies and on television. 

 

To stay true to the appearance of the original tiny toy soldiers, GreatBigStuff  included elements such as seam lines and injection mold rings on the giant toy soldier’s back. However, they  incorporated details such as buttons, shoelaces, hair, and a USA insignia on the shirt pocket.

 

 

These giant toy soldiers will be produced in cold-cast resin. They are sturdy, but they are not toys, there is no playing with these toy soldiers. Display your giant toy soldier as a nostalgic homage to your youth .  Set him up next to your G.I. Joes' with the kung-fu grip. 

The series 'A' Giant Toy Soldier is the first of several poses GBS intend to produce. The next in the series will be the sniper soldier lying on the ground in the prone position. That's the one my jerky brother swallowed.
